The Health Center has been a major teaching hospital of the St. Louis University School of Medicine for more than 60 years with all faculty members holding clinical faculty appointments at the St. Louis University or Washington University Schools of Medicine.

In addition to serving as the major training site for our independent Internal Medicine Residency Program, St. Mary's serves as the University hospital for the St. Louis University Obstetrics and Gynecology Department and it's Residency Program and supports integrated programs with St. Louis University in Urology, Plastic Surgery, Pathology, Pediatrics, Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine. St. Louis University residents and medical students rotate through all of these teaching services and St. Louis University fellows in Gastroenterology rotate on a full-time basis with St. Mary's faculty
