Thank you for your interest in our Internal Medicine Residency Program. We will begin accepting applications for the 2009-2010 academic year in September 2008. We only accept applications through ERAS. (No paper applications please.) We will begin interviewing October 21, 2008 and complete the interview process by January 09, 2009.  The deadline for receiving applications will be November 1, 2008. Due to the large number of applications, we review only those with USMLE Parts I and II scores of 80 or above, first attempt.  This year, we will continue to sponsor H-1B visas for highly qualified International Medical Graduate applicants and, of course, we will also accept J-1 visas. Our Program is exempt from the H-1B visa cap. If you require an H-1B visa, USMLE Part III results must be available by February 1, 2009. Applicants must have graduated within the last five to seven years and US clinical experience is beneficial but not required. ECFMG certification must be received at time of application for temporary medical license allowing you to begin a residency program. We offer 12 positions – 8 categorical and 4 preliminary. St. Mary’s does not offer observership/externship positions.
