City of St. Louis:

 Metropolitan St. Louis offers a big city wealth of culture and recreation in a friendly, small-town atmosphere. St. Mary's Health Center is located at the heart of this vibrant area.

The St. Louis climate creates four distinct seasons, and the cost of living is moderately low. The area's economy is supported by a number of major "Fortune 500" corporations, including Boeing, Ralston Purina, Anheuser-Busch, Monsanto, Chrysler, Ford and Emerson Electric.

Comfortable but affordable housing, excellent schools, convenient shopping, varied dining and diverse recreational activities all lay within just a few miles of the Health Center - in many cases, within walking distance. 

The Washington University main campus is just a few minutes away, its medical school and medical center only a mile or so farther. St. Louis University and its school of medicine can be reached within 10 minutes' drive time.

Two blocks east of the Health Center is Forest Park, one of the nation's largest public parks. Within its borders are the St. Louis Zoo, which includes a large children's zoo; the St. Louis Art Museum, the St. Louis Science Center, an interactive learning environment in natural and physical sciences (it includes a medical museum); the Muny Opera, the world's largest outdoor amphitheater; and ice skating rink; jogging and biking trails, and a golf course.

Less than 10 minutes away is the Grand Center Theater District anchored Powell Hall, home of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, and the "Fabulous" Fox Theater, which offers a varied program of top-name entertainers an Broadway hits

Downtown St. Louis - a 10 minute drive away - is the home of the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals; the St. Louis Football Rams , and the St. Louis Blues Hockey Team. Also downtown are St. Louis Centre and Union Station, two sparkling shopping, dining and entertainment spots. Nearby, along the Mississippi Riverfront, is Laclede's Landing, a restored, turn-of-the-century village of cobblestone streets and historic buildings that house restaurants, nightclubs and shops.

Numerous outdoor activities are available in or near St. Louis, including hiking, biking, sailing, and canoeing on local rivers. Because of St. Louis' location near the geographic center of the U.S., Chicago, Kansas City, Memphis, and Nashville are within an easy day's drive. Easy direct air access to virtually all major U.S. cities is available.
